Dennis N Aust
President
Dennis Aust has been a leader of the Chicago Booth alumni community since 1999, when he revitalized the then-dormant Consulting Roundtable. He joined the board of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club in 2005, where he has previously served as VP – Communications and VP - Continuing Education. As President, his personal vision is that the Chicago Booth Alumni Club should grow into its full potential as a vital and recognized presence in the community, accomplishing this by providing a variety of creative and well-executed program/services enabling members and other alums to connect, learn, engage, and serve.

In his professional life, Dennis has nearly 30 years of experience developing and implementing value creation strategies, frameworks, and tools for Fortune 500 and mid-cap firms in a variety of industries. He currently serves as Senior Partner and Managing Director of CharterMast Partners LLC, a consulting firm which provides public and privately held companies guidance, support, and insights for developing and implementing best-in-class strategies for value creation.

When he isn’t busy with work, family or with club activities, Dennis is an avid classical music fan and a regular hiker in the dunes near his home in Northwest Indiana. His three favorite cultural institutions are the Chicago Symphony, WFMT, and The Economist “newspaper.”

David C Burrus
Secretary
David has been a part of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club since 1995, during which time he also contributed to the school's Task Force on Alumni Engagement. He served as Club President from 2006 to 2009, and serves currently as the Club's Secretary.

His professional background spans a variety of functions, including corporate international finance, acquisitions, distribution and planning, industrial product development and market management. David has worked for nearly the past thirty years in both start-ups and established organizations, spanning industries from pharmaceuticals to aircraft parts to manufacturing. Prior to that, he worked in the kitchen of a Pizza Hut, where customers clamored to learn what days he was off. He travels internationally throughout Europe and Asia and recently applied to patent a new product.

William A Roule

Bill Roule is currently between opportunities.

Prior to this situation, Bill has worked as a Federal Tax Specialist for Rio Tinto Alcan, a Tax Manager for Rand McNally, a self-employed tax consultant, a Senior Tax Manager for Navigant Consulting, a Tax Manager for Deloitte & Touche, and he spent many years in the tax department of Inland Steel Industries.

Bill earned a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago. At Chicago, he was president of Henderson House Council. He received a MBA with a concentration in Finance and Accounting at the Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business. In addition, he earned a Master of Science in Taxation (MST) from DePaul University. He is also a CPA.

Bill is currently the Treasurer of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club. For two years, he was the president of the Metro Chapter of the Illinois CPA Society.

Bill lives in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. He enjoys going to the theater and the movies

Roger L Moore
Vice-President,
Communications
Roger Moore is a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a leading international management consulting firm specialized in formulating corporate strategy and creating competitive advantage for its clients. Roger is a core member of BCG’s Operations Practice Area and a member of the Information Technology Practice Area. His experience spans industries, geographies and a broad range of operations technology products and services.

Prior to joining BCG, Roger was President and CEO of Decision Models & Systems (DMS), a firm that he founded. DMS specialized in developing Decision Support Systems for Fortune 500 firms. He also was the Director of Technical Services at Sawtooth Software, a developer of market research and statistical software.

Roger holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. At the University of Wisconsin he was the President of the Badger Amateur Radio Society and the President and a darkroom instructor at the Badger Photographic Society. He also received an MBA with focus in Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. At the GSB, he was a member of the Advanced Technology and Management Consulting Clubs. He also was a finalist in the Consulting Challenge.

Roger is President of the Board at Eclipse Theatre Company whose mission is “One Playwright, One Season.” Roger is also the VP of Communications for the Chicago GSB Alumni Club, a member of the Museum of Science and Industry’s Visibility Steering Committee. He also advises the Chicago Children’s Museum on IT strategy. In 2007, Roger completed the Arts and Business Council’s OnBoard program–designed to prepare professionals to serve as board members for arts related organizations.

Roger has traveled extensively for business and pleasure. He lives in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood with his wife and two children. He spends as much of his free time as he can with his family. He is involved in martial arts, ice skating and playing percussion instruments. He has completed Second City’s entry level “Letters” classes and attended acting classes at Act One Studios. He attends performances at many theatres and enjoys ethnic restaurants.

Jon C Peterson

Community Service
Jon is a member of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club’s Board of Directors where he serves as Vice President of Community Service and Student Organization Liaison.

As Vice President of Community Service, he has organized various volunteer service opportunities for the Club and its members. These opportunities have included painting and renovating Chicago inner-city schools, sorting and packing food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, fund-raising for local public television station WTTW and co-sponsoring with the University of Chicago’s Women’s Business Group the bi-annual Linking Professionals with Non-Profit Boards which enables Booth alumni to find a beginning niche in community service that could provide career growth and readiness for service on larger non-profit boards.

As Student Organization Liaison, he has worked to better coordinate the activities and relationships between Club members, the Booth Alumni Office and various Booth student organizations. The goal of this liaison position is to enrich the Booth experience for both current students and Chicago area alums through increased contact and social networking activities.

Jon also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Booth Entrepreneurial Roundtable, an independent alumni-run organization focusing on entrepreneurial business opportunities for Chicago Booth alumni.

Professionally, Jon has over 30 years experience the health care industry, where he specializes in corporate finance, strategy, valuation and litigation services for hospitals, health systems, physician services and other related businesses. He is Founder and President of Jon Peterson & Associates, a healthcare litigation and consulting services firm located in La Grange, Illinois.

In his spare time he enjoys coaching cycling, skiing, hiking, camping, travel and collecting vintage high-end audio equipment. He is also the Executive Producer of "World War II Veterans Stories'" a series of interviews capturing the memories and recollections of World War II veterans who served in overseas combat. This series has been televised on local cable television community access channels and has won accolades and support from various local VFW and American Legion posts.

Ira Goldberg

Ira Goldberg has been active in the GSB/Booth Alumni Club since shortly after its inception. He helped plan over 50 alumni events before and after joining the Board, and also served the Club as Co-Chair of the Events and Community Service Committee. Favorite events include wine/food tastings and educational tours. Ira currently helps coordinate events with the University of Chicago Alumni Club, on whose Board he also sits.

Professionally, Ira provides strategic financial planning and implementation for large leases and equipment purchases at Argonne National Laboratory’s Leadership Computing Facility. The Facility provides world-leading computing capability for breakthrough science and engineering. He is tapped as a lab-wide resource for cost benefit analyses, leases, and third party financing. Ira also teaches Economics at the University of Chicago’s Graham School and has worked in economics and finance as a consultant.

Previously, Ira was Vice President for Finance and Treasurer of Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. While at Knox, he oversaw the largest bond issue in the college’s history, restructured the endowment investments, and led a transition to computerization in the Business Office. As a volunteer, he served the Argonne Credit Union for over ten years in different capacities, including Supervisory Committee Chair, Chairman of the Board, and Treasurer.

In addition to his MBA in finance from U of C, Ira holds a Doctorate and Masters in Economics from Southern Illinois University where he wrote his dissertation about philosophy of science and social science. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Knox College. Ira enjoys outdoor activities, especially hiking, biking, gardening, golf, and cross country skiing.

Shalesh Kumbhat

A (1991) and MBA (2002) from the University of Chicago. Founder of Vivid Technologies, an IT Staffing business focused on the securities trading industry. With a strong interest in public policy, has developed "Where is Consumer-Driven Health Care Going?" and "K12 Education: Incentivism vs. Instructionism" panels for the Booth Management Conference in 2005 and the Booth Club of Chicago in 2007, resp.

Interests including salsa dancing, White Sox baseball, animal protection (PETA), and the Republican Party.

Vivek Prabhu

Vivek's background is in enterprise software and is currently a Principal at Chi5 Inc., a technology firm based out of Chicago. Previously, Vivek was a part of Oracle Corporation's consulting services division and focused on implementing enterprise software, focusing on e-commerce, at small & medium sized businesses.

In addition to being on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club, Vivek is also a member steering committee for the Chicago Booth Marketing Roundtable.

Vivek has a Bachelor's & Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Caryl M Barclay

Caryl has been a member of the Chicago Booth (GSB) Alumni Club Board since 1995 and is a past president of the group. Prior to joining the Board, Cary was active on their Career Management Committee.

Professionally, Caryl currently works for SAP in their Business Transformation Group, in the Organizational Change Management Practice. Caryl is a seasoned manager and consultant with a proven track record of successfully leading business transformations by integrating strategy, organizational change management, process redesign, and technology. She is skilled at building and motivating highly diverse cross-industry, cross-function, multi-organization, global teams. Her industry experience includes manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceuticals, managed care, banking, finance, chemicals, and utilities. Prior to joining SAP, Caryl worked for a number of consulting firms, including her own firm, and was also a Director of International IT for a large manufacturing firm.

In her spare time, Caryl loves to travel, hike, enjoy wildflowers, cook, listen to music, and most of all spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Elias Yanaki
Director-at-Large
Elias Yanaki has served on the University of Chicago Booth Alumni Club Board of Directors since 2009, assisting a variety of committees. Professionally, Elias is the Director of Equity and Debt Investments at a Chicago-based private equity firm.

Elias has prior experience investing in domestic and international real estate, including industrial, office, retail, hotel, and residential assets, along with mixed-use development projects. He has worked with private equity firms to source opportunities, build extensive financial models, assist in the closing process, and execute on management projections for both asset and platform level investments. Elias has previously worked at GE Capital in their Financial Management Program as well as at ACNielsen in their Financial Planning and Analysis group.

He is a member of numerous real estate organizations and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois. He also serves on the Executive Board of Directors of St. John the Baptist, Melkite Greek Catholic Church in Northlake, IL. Elias holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the College of Business at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Edward A Rowe

Edward A. Rowe is the managing principal of ARK Real Estate Advisors. With forty years experience and total transactions exceeding $6.5 Billion, he offers clients a diverse professional background, including acquisition, disposition, development, and debt & equity financing. He possesses in-depth knowledge of investment strategies and financial structuring utilized by both institutional and private investors. Mr. Rowe’s broad network of industry contacts – including institutional & individual investors, developers, builders, contractors, investment and leasing brokers, investment bankers, mortgage bankers, and lawyers – is critical in addressing clients’ needs.

Prior to joining ARK, Mr. Rowe oversaw acquisitions and dispositions for Centro Properties Group, the fifth largest shopping center owner in the nation. Centro entered the U.S. market in 2003 and subsequently acquired three publicly traded U.S. REITs, including New Plan Excel. Mr. Rowe was instrumental in the New Plan Excel acquisition and in the sale of many assets.

Prior to his tenure at Centro, Mr. Rowe served as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions & Dispositions for ORIX Real Estate Capital (OREC), a subsidiary of a $50B international financial services company. OREC owned and managed a national portfolio of distressed commercial real estate assets acquired in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Mr. Rowe was instrumental in forming this portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties totaling $1.75B. He initiated this program, which included many ground-up developments located in primary, secondary and tertiary markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. Under Mr. Rowe’s leadership, ORIX oversaw the land acquisition, entitlement and zoning, architectural and engineering, financing, construction management, asset management, and disposition of each of these properties. During his 17 year ORIX tenure, Mr. Rowe also orchestrated a recapitalization of a $175M, multi-asset joint venture with a nationally recognized institutional partner.

Mr. Rowe holds a B.S. from the Northwestern University Undergraduate School of Business, an M.B.A from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and is a licensed broker in the State of Illinois. His professional affiliations include National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, Real Estate Investment Advisory Council, Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and is a Board Member of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club.

Mr. Rowe enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is a licensed amateur radio operator and has a passion for antique automobiles.
